1. Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years old to use Dialectica. By using the Service you represent that you meet this requirement and that all information you provide is accurate.

2. Your Account

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your credentials and for all activity under your account. Notify us immediately at hello@dialectica.app if you suspect unauthorised access.

3. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the Service to generate or disseminate hate speech, harassment, or content that promotes violence.
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or extract the AI opponent's underlying model weights or prompts.
• Automate interactions with the Service without our prior written consent.
• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable regulation.
• Share your account credentials with third parties.
• Attempt to circumvent subscription limits or access Pro features without payment.

4. Intellectual Property

Dialectica and its content, features, and functionality are owned by us and are protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. You retain ownership of the content you submit during debates. By submitting content you grant us a limited licence to process it for the purpose of providing the Service.

5. AI-Generated Content

Responses generated by the AI opponent are for educational and entertainment purposes only. They do not constitute professional advice (legal, financial, medical, or otherwise). We do not guarantee accuracy or factual correctness of AI-generated content.

6. Subscription and Payments

Free tier features are provided at no charge. Pro tier features require a paid subscription. Prices and terms will be published at launch. Subscriptions auto-renew unless cancelled before the renewal date. Refunds are handled on a case-by-case basis at our discretion.

7. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Dialectica shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of your use of or inability to use the Service.

9. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access at any time for violations of these Terms or for any other reason at our discretion, with or without notice. You may delete your account at any time via account settings.

10. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. Material changes will be communicated via email or an in-app notice.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the European Union and the applicable laws of the jurisdiction in which Dialectica operates, without regard to conflict of law provisions.
