• Waitlist data: email address submitted via our waitlist form.
• Debate content: text you enter during debate sessions to provide AI responses and scoring.
• Usage data: pages visited, features used, session duration, and interaction patterns.

We also collect technical data automatically: IP address, browser type, device identifiers, and cookies (see Cookie Policy).

2. How We Use Your Information

• To provide, operate, and improve the Dialectica service.
• To generate AI opponent responses and debate scores personalised to your session.
• To send waitlist notifications and product updates (you may unsubscribe at any time).
• To detect and prevent fraud, abuse, or violations of our Terms of Service.
• To comply with legal obligations.

3. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with:

• Service providers: infrastructure, analytics, and email delivery partners who process data on our behalf under confidentiality agreements.
• AI providers: debate content is sent to third-party AI APIs (e.g., Anthropic) to generate responses. Their data handling is governed by their respective privacy policies.
• Law enforcement: when required by applicable law or to protect the rights and safety of users.

4. Data Retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. Debate session content is retained for up to 90 days to generate reports; anonymised analytical data may be retained longer. Waitlist emails are deleted within 30 days of product launch or upon unsubscribe, whichever comes first.

5. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you.
• Request correction of inaccurate data.
• Request deletion of your data ("right to be forgotten").
• Object to or restrict certain processing.
• Data portability.

6. Security

We use industry-standard measures including encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest to protect your data. No system is completely secure; we encourage you to use a strong, unique password.

7. Children

Dialectica is not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it promptly.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy periodically. Material changes will be notified by email or a notice on the site. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
